Mia Bottos

Mia Bottos is an articling student who practices in all areas of family law. She is a dedicated advocate with a passion for helping others through some of their toughest moments.

Mia received both her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta. While in law school, she served on the Law Students’ Association for two years and served as President for one of them. As President, Mia spent countless hours problem-solving with members of her team, advocating for the interests of students, and learning the value of precise and rational decision-making. These experiences have made her into an skillful communicator and a confident advocate. Mia also volunteered with the Women’s Law Forum, OUTLaw, and Student Legal Services, where her passion for access to justice was solidified.

Prior to law school, Mia volunteered with the Youth Restorative Action Project as a mentor to youths, and as a child advocate at the Zebra Child Protection Centre. This is what sparked Mia’s interest in family law. Years spent working with children, youth and their family members has given her a sincere appreciation for complicated family dynamics and the importance of a safe and healthy home.

In her spare time, Mia enjoys going to the beach, riding her bike, tending to her houseplants and going for sushi.
